South Texas Academy of Music was founded in 2021 with a simple belief: music education should feel achievable, engaging, and connected to real life. Today, our team serves students ages 4 through adult at our downtown Mercedes studio through guitar, drums, piano, voice, and violin classes.

We do more than teach notes and songs. We help students build confidence, discipline, creativity, teamwork, and the courage to perform. Our practical, encouraging approach meets each student where they are and gives them a clear path forward.

OUR STORY

STXAM began with founder Nick Dozer’s passion for making music lessons more welcoming and effective. It has grown into a team-based academy where students learn from dedicated instructors, play with others, and experience the excitement of becoming real musicians.
